“It is a condition of every special employee licence that the individual must undertake a Responsible Conduct of Gaming course approved by the Tasmanian Gaming Commission within three months of being licensed”.
Responsible Conduct of Gaming course involves a thorough knowledge of the Tasmanian Gaming Exclusion Scheme
From 1 July 2010, the Commission will only recognize courses that deliver the national competency SITHGAM006A – Provide Responsible Gambling Services conducted by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), as a prerequisite training for special employee licences.
The Commission has determined that for the time being it will continue to recognise the qualifications of special employees who have completed Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) – formerly AHA, or Tasmanian Skills Institute- formerly TAFE Drysdale Institute, courses.
The Commission has proposed that all special employees be retrained in the new course once their existing RCG qualification (received by way of the current THA or Skills Institute course) is more than five years old, with these special employees having 12 months to upgrade to the SITHGAM006A course.
We are expecting that we will be able to offer online Training for people in Tasmania in the near future.
